Núria Nia

Teaches Performance Art and Technology

Núria Nia‘s artistic practice initially stems from the audiovisual medium and expands from video creation and video essay to installation, sculpture, performance, textual publications, and other forms of intervention in everyday media, always anchored in one point: the relationship and space between the physical and the digital, between the connected and the disconnected from the Internet, between collective memory and the shared archive on the network, between a past of cables and satellites and the ghost of collapse conquering the imaginary of a possible future. She has held various individual as well as national and international collective exhibitions.

As an independent artist worker, she engages in various commissioned and autonomous projects, always tackling the challenges of learning new fields and exploring curiosities that broaden her perspective. As an audiovisual worker, she receives commissions from museums and independent artists to create videos on artistic processes or research, even for curatorial museum projects, technology and art festivals, or educational settings. These projects are managed from production through realization and editing with the utmost care in all processes and maximum communication with the involved artists.

“Teaching in a convulsed world like the current one is a challenge of complexity and an opportunity toward more sustainable change for the planet and for people. It is a territory in which to bet on care, affections, and responsibilities but also on intuition, emotion, and free imagination.”
