Your Neighborhood working space for a hotter future.
In the abandoned Mercedes factory in Sant Andreu, we imagine a new kind of public space for Barcelona’s future.
As temperatures continue to rise, the project proposes an underground ecological coworking and community space designed to offer a cooler and more sustainable environment for work, rest and connection
Above the underground structure, the former industrial site is transformed into a public park with a lake and green landscape for the neighborhood. The water naturally cools the spaces below, reducing the need for excessive air conditioning, electricity and energy consumption.
The project rethinks abandoned industrial architecture as climate infrastructure: a shared refuge from extreme heat, a productive underground environment and a new ecological public space for the city.
