Teaches Coding in the MAIAD and Interaction Design and Development in the MHIAI
I am an interaction designer, researcher and creative technologist, originally from London, and now based in Catalonia – I studied Moving Image Design at Ravensbourne College followed by a Masters in Computer Science at UCL, and am now completing a PhD in the DARTS group at UOC, investigating the material and ecological entanglements of digital media and infrastructures through design practice. I’ve a long history of creative work with digital technology, both in professional and personal practice – I worked for several years on speculative projects in the Internet Research and Future Services department of the BBC, and have exhibited work at MOMI New York, Eufònic Festival, Convent Sant Agustí, ACVIC and Medialab Matadero, among others.
I currently work as an independent practitioner on research, design and prototyping projects with a diverse range of clients and collaborators including the Green Web Foundation, Fab Lab Barcelona, and the Xarxa de Ràdios Comunitáries de Barcelona. In addition, I teach at ELISAVA (on the MA in Applied AI for Art and Design and the MA in AI and Human Interaction), BAU (on the University Masters in Design Research) and IAAC.
“In my teaching, I encourage students to think critically about the material consequences of digital systems. Designing with AI means understanding not only interaction and performance, but also responsibility, sustainability and the long term impact of technology.”
