Advisor and course leader on AI Governance

Lauren Mushro is the Head of Product and AI Research at Sapien, where she leads the development of data annotation tooling and quality assurance pipelines. Prior to joining Sapien, she worked across US government agency products as a Senior Associate at KPMG and served as a UN staffer at the World Expo in Dubai. Lauren holds a PhD in modern languages from Johns Hopkins University and a BA in political science from Boston College. She is a published author and continues to research language acquisition and the development of large language models for translation, with a focus on bias mitigation in model training.

Lauren currently serves as Head of Product and AI Research at Sapien AI, a data annotation platform and foundry focused on providing quality data for model training and inference. She is simultaneously a fellow at the Museum of Science Boston, focused on dispersing her scientific research to a broader audience.
