Anna Diaz, Hamill Industries
Teaches Robotics & Light
Visual artist and creative director of Hamill Industries, she holds an Audiovisual Communication degree from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and studied at Freie Universität Berlin, specializing in avant-garde video. Her focus is on developing multidisciplinary audiovisual works that explore science, new technologies, and experimental formats. Her portfolio includes museum pieces, mappings, stage designs, music videos, installations, and documentaries. Since 2009, she has combined creation with teaching audiovisual theory at IED-Barcelona, IAAC, and EINA, while also leading workshops on new technologies globally.
Hamill Industries, the artistic duo of Pablo Barquin and Anna Diaz, creates films, installations, and stage productions inspired by the physical world. They reimagine both the virtual sphere and reality, producing highly sensory works across various mediums. Their projects explore expanded visuals and blur the boundaries between digital and tangible realms. This transmedia flexibility stems from extensive workshop research that develops cutting-edge tools. Their innovative approach to technology has gained the trust of collaborators and institutions, including the San Francisco Ballet (with Tamara Rojo), Floating Points, CCCB, and Caixaforum, among others.
“My intention is to stimulate curiosity, foster the spirit of self-learning, and drive a critical perspective in the field of audiovisual design. Above all, I want to share the passion for experimentation and the confluence between creative technologies and audiovisual narratives, paving the way for new languages.”
